In a Forbes article I just ran across from yesterday (10/20/08), Forbes lists Atlanta as No. 9 in the list of the top 10 cities “Where Your Nest Egg Will Go The Farthest.” The cities ranked in the top 10 are considered by Forbes as “[places] with affordable housing, low cost of living and decent job prospects.” They chose the 40 largest Cencus-defined areas and then used labor and cencus data to look at the cost of living and housing affordability among other factors.
Our neighbor Nashville rounded out the list at No. 10 – so a good showing for the South!
