Nationwide home sales up, but not great!

The sales numbers for June homes sales have just been released.  While June sales did show a positive 3.6% increase, many consider this flat growth.  The numbers were reported today on existing home sales by the National Association of Realtors.

Realtors and homebuilders alike had assumed the low mortgage rates, tax incentives, low prices and the number of available homes would stimulate home buyers in June.

Where to go from here?  Many still predict a slow and continual growth over the next several months.  “I doubt we will see all the inventory homes in Atlanta disappear overnight,” says Dina Gundersen of Monte Hewett Homes, “but as we continue to sell 3-4 homes each week, buyers need to understand their choices will be limited.”
