This weekend offers two chances to get outdoors and enjoy the cool fall weather at the Smyrna Fall Jonquil Festival and the Dunwoody Music Festival.

Head to Smyrna’s Village Green to attend the Fall Jonquil Festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23. With a large arts and crafts market featuring 175 vendors from across the country and a wide selection of festival foods, the Jonquil Festival takes place in both spring and fall. Special festival sections include the Featured Artists Market, the Fresh Harvest Market and acoustic performances from Scott Thompson at the Veterans Memorial. There is plenty for the kids to do too in the Kid’s Zone with Master Puppeteer Peter Hart.

Go east on I-285 to get to the third annual Dunwoody Music Festival and an entire weekend of live music and activities for all ages. Held at Brook Run Park, the festival includes lots of live bands ranging from country to rock to R&B. Saturday night, the Stars of the 80s Rock Concert brings back memories with performances by members from .38 Special, Starship, Survivor and more. Teens and tweens will love the Andretti’s Young Adult Zone from School of Rock, an area for younger attendees. This area includes a breakdance competition and the popular Battle of the Bands. There is also a large Children’s Area with free and paid activities; a diverse vendors market with arts, crafts and collectibles; a train running through the park.

These festivals offer hours of fun, so be sure get outside this weekend! The weather looks to be PERFECT!
