Friends and neighbors, the summer has come to an end, but family activities are still rolling on into the fall. Residents in many of our communities can still enjoy outdoor events, most of which are FREE and close to your home. Let’s take a look at what’s happening throughout the month of September around metro Atlanta.

If you live at Park Overlook in Decatur, you are in the place to be for live music. Downtown Decatur Square welcomes everyone to visit the area for weekly free concerts. Blue Sky Concerts are every Wednesday during the 12pm-1pm lunch hour. Take in a free music break with a to-go lunch from a nearby restaurant. What a great way to get away from the office. If the weekend is your only time to catch a show, don’t worry. Concerts on the Square takes place every Saturday night from 7pm-9:30pm in Downtown Decatur Square, and it is also free. Pack a picnic and bring the family over for some good live performances. Jazz lovers are welcome to also Visit Downtown Decatur for Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite. This concert series is also free and open to the public every Thursday night from 7pm to 9pm.

For Heatherton and Vineyards residents there is plenty of fun outside the perimeter. This weekend is the 46th Annual Roswell Arts Festival in the Roswell Historic Town Square. This amazing event is free to all on September 15th and 16th from 10am to 6pm. Stop by for some awesome artwork and crafts to decorate your home. Shuttle services are provided from Roswell city Hall to Town Square on both days. If you are a theater buff, visit the Roswell Cultural Arts Center for the Georgia Ensemble Theatre’s presentation of “The Man Who Came to Dinner”. Cost varies for certain shows, so visit the website for ticket information.  Although Tallulah Manor is coming soon, you can still take in some festivities as Brookhaven celebrates success as new city. This year marks the 1st Annual Brookhaven Chili Cook-off on September 22nd at 11am to 7pm. Live music will be provided by local artists. The cook-off is free to the public and visitors can sample chili from contestants from noon to 3pm.
