Kelly – a 4X Iron Man!
We would like to shine the spotlight on our very own Iron Man, Kelly Kingsfield! Kelly completed an Iron Man Triathlon in Boulder on August 3rd – way to go! For our readers who may not know, an Iron Man Triathlon involves a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run. There are Iron Man races all over the world and the athletes participating in them are the best of the best. Not only do these people complete these athletic feats, they do them without a scheduled break in between. This isn’t a competition you can just walk into and hope for the best. This Iron Man team member spent almost an entire year preparing herself mentally and physically for this competition. Talk about dedication! Kelly completed her Iron Man in 16 hours and 34 minutes and 30 seconds.
To break it down, Kelly completed the 2.4-mile swim in 1 hour 30 minutes and 8 seconds. This was a personal best for Kelly and we are so excited for her! She completed the 112-mile bike ride in 7 hours 41 minutes and 41 seconds. Her time for the 26.2-mile run (the distance of a marathon) was 6 hours 59 minutes and 26 seconds. If you want to see the breakdown of her race, check out the official page for the race and search her bib number, 1151.
We don’t know about you, but we think that is pretty outstanding! If you see our Iron Man team member, make sure to congratulate her! Way to go Kelly, we are so proud of you!
